The evening of 10th October 2023 saw over 75 people walk through the doors of Totton, all with one thing in common: supporting their local community!
Olivia and I, Coordinators of Community First’s Volunteering Service, alongside Lesley Edward & Cllr Caroline Rackham of Totton & Eling Town Council, hosted our final event of this year at the fantastic St Wins Church, Totton in the New Forest, which welcomed over 50 exhibitors all showcasing their community services and volunteering opportunities to dozens of community members in attendance. The atmosphere was a buzzing one and the convenient time of the day helped many residents of Totton & Eling discover all of the services and opportunities on offer! Some community members in attendance said:
“Really enjoyed speaking to everyone. Events like this bring the community together!”
“Fantastic. Great mix of stands, I came to network with organisations who may have service users related to what I do.”
“It was definitely worth going!”
We were so thankful to all of the exhibitors for supporting and attending our event. One of our exhibitors said: “It was very well laid out, good facilities and good atmosphere!” Thanks also goes to our amazing Community First, Totton & Eling Town Council & St Wins Team of helpers that took care of so much to ensure the event ran smoothly and successfully!
Daniel from Fareshare Southern Central said: “Brilliant location for us and free tea and coffee!“
Beth from HCC Waste Prevention fed back saying: “The fact it was in the evening and the venue was great!”
Sophia from Dentaid kindly stated: “Great event, thank you for your hard work and putting it together!”
Ruth from Minstead Trust shared her experience of the event: “Nice mix of local organisations and charities.”
